For CA May 2014 Examinations - It has been formally announced by ICAI that The Companies Act,2013 shall not be applicable for May 2014 Examinations.
For CS June 2014 Examinations - It has not been formally announced by ICSI regarding applicablity or non-applicability of The Companies Act,2013 for June 2014 Examinations.Till date i.e 24.11.2013, I am writing this blog, only 98 sections of the said Act has become applicable and Rules are still in finalisation process and not been still noftified by MCA, that have been just put on its website for recommendations.According to rules, only those amendments which have come into effect 6 months prior to the date of examinations become applicable.So as per my opinion, ICSI will ask to have knowledge of only 98 sections and so The Companies Act,1956 still shall be applicable for June 2014 examinations.
Note: Western Indian Regional Council had made an announcement on its website(linkhttp://www.icsi.edu/wiro/student.aspx) regarding the applicability of The Companies Act,2013 for June 2014 Examinations, but National website of ICSI i.e www.icsi.edu has not made any such announcement.So as per my opinion students need to study 'The companies Act,1956 and to prepared for exams without waiting for any further announcement.
